Masks
I have been so appreciative and grateful for everyone’s cooperation with wearing face masks. Please make sure that you continue to wear a mask while entering the college, in college and in lessons. Everyone needs to wear a mask.
When working on head or neck points, or looking at tongues, everyone must wear a mask and a visor.
We will need to continue to wear masks while doing point location and in clinic for some considerable time, but it may be that over the coming weeks we can start to relax masks while in college (but not yet, so my first paragraph still applies!). I am interested to know how you feel about the thought of relaxing masks around college – i.e. in reception, in the corridors, in the bistro. Would you feel safe if the college did this? Please email me to let me know if you have any strong feelings about relaxing masks around the college.
Lateral Flow Tests
When you are next in college please pick up a pack of lateral flow tests to test yourself at home. There are 7 tests in the pack – and more available courtesy of the Government. We are encouraging all students and staff to test themselves before they come to college. The kit comes with all the instructions you need to conduct the test and log the results.
Roadmap
It looks like the UK will meet the criteria for the next stage of lockdown and so from Monday 17th May we will also move on to the next stage of our roadmap. This means the bistro will have all the tables and chairs put back, tea and coffee will be available again – please bring your own flasks as mugs will not be available. The water fountain in reception will also be reopened. Gowns and blankets however will still not be available.
